As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Processing purchase invoices, staff expenses and company credit cards on a daily basis
- Preparation of payment runs
- Maintaining good supplier relationships
- Setting up bank payments on Barclays.net
- Internal communication to ensure purchase invoices and all expenses have required approval
- Review and Investigation of supplier ledger including regular statement reconciliations, unallocated cash/debit balances on account etc.
- Keeping the supplier ledgers clean and up to date
- Daily management of the accounts email inbox, dealing with all emails as necessary and resolving queries in a timely manner
- Daily bank allocations of payments, monthly petty cash reconciliation
- Supporting any changes that are implemented for the Accounts Payable process
- Ad hoc duties as required by the nature of the role
Desired Skills:
- Ideally possessing experience gained within an accounts department
- High level of computer literacy (Microsoft excel), numerical skills and strong understanding of double-entry accounting
- An interest in developing a career in accountancy
- Previous experience of Microsoft Navision accounting software desirable but not essential
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Flexible in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
- The successful candidate will need to be timely, hardworking, proactive, motivated and tidy
