Join the Genius team powering fan engagement with smart ads, AI-driven broadcasts, epic stats, and gamified experiences.
Are you passionate about sports and mobile app development? We’re on the lookout for a mid-level Android Developer to join our Melbourne team and help create fan engagement apps for some of the biggest names in sport, including the AFL and NRL. Working alongside designers, engineers, and product managers, you’ll build and maintain native Android apps in Kotlin (and Java where needed), integrate with backend systems, and contribute to app architecture and performance improvements. You’ll take pride in writing clean, testable code, delivering smooth and engaging user experiences, and staying on top of the latest Android tools and trends. If you love sports, thrive in fast-paced collaboration, and take pride in delivering polished, reliable apps that fans love, this is the role for you.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 3+ years of Android development experience delivering apps in production
- Strong Kotlin skills (with some Java) and experience with AndroidX libraries/components.
- Knowledge of modular app architectures, scalable builds, and dependency injection (Hilt/Dagger).
- Proficiency in Android UI frameworks, delivering smooth and engaging user experiences.
- Experience with networking (Retrofit/OkHttp), persistence (Room, DataStore), and coroutines.
- Familiarity with Firebase, Google Play Services, authentication/identity providers, and third-party SDKs.
- Strong focus on code quality, testing (JUnit, Mockito, Espresso), and delivering performant apps.
