Rei do Pitaco, Brazil’s most popular Daily Fantasy platform, set out to acquire new customers for its sportsbook and casino products.
Brazil is home to one of the world’s largest football fanbases, with 70% of Brazilians identifying as football fans according to TGM research. Since online sports betting was regulated in Brazil in 2025, operators have been battling to acquire new customers and vying for share of wallet amongst the country’s passionate football bettors.
With four Brazilian teams in action: Palmeiras, Flamengo, Fluminense and Botafogo, and a newly expanded format, the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup presented a major opportunity for Rei do Pitaco. The tournament took place across the U.S., in June and July.
At the same time, even with a mid-season break, the Brasileirão (Brazil’s leading domestic football competition) remained packed with high-profile fixtures between the nation’s biggest teams.
Rei do Pitaco partnered with Genius Sports to build a multi-channel two-month campaign designed to drive acquisition around key football fixtures.
Genius’ expert advertising strategy involved building a campaign across programmatic display and video targeting high-value Brazilian audiences.
Hyper-relevant ads were delivered using Genius’ proprietary, automated budget-pacing technology, which aligns advertising with key moments, including spikes in pre-match and in-play betting turnover, ensuring maximum efficiency of ad spend.
As part of the campaign, Rei do Pitaco had access to Genius’ dynamic data-driven creative services, displaying their real-time odds, fixtures and club logos, enabling Rei do Pitaco to connect with football fans before, during and after big games.
Our media buying experts worked closely with the client, and made mid-flight optimisations, including upweighting spend during the Club World Cup when Brazilian teams played.
The ResultThe campaign which ran from June to July 2025, exceeded all expectations.
